"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
Galatians 5:14
Our vision
In 2001, during a Christian mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, I prayed to the Lord, asking him what He wanted of me. He gave me a vision in which I saw a 9-year-old child walking with a bag on their head, looking for a place to sleep. When I woke up, Elohim asked me to build orphanages and He also gave me this verse, Matthaois (Matthew) 25:34-36:
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.”
In 2002, the charity “Le Pain Quotidien” was founded. We bought a land in Ndjili, a village in the Democratic Republic of Congo in order to build the orphanage “Les Enfants Prodiges”. Over the years, more than fifty children were taken in and cared for thanks to sponsorship. Since then, we have created a number of partnerships throughout the world with local Christian organisations (orphanages, schools, reception centres).
Since we are located in France and because there is much need here (mainland France and the French overseas departments and territories), a number of charities was set up to help family in need, children, migrants, homeless and isolated people…

Our entities
Supporting children
The historical hub of Le Pain Quotidien, the child hub, takes action in the social field, helping the world’s most disadvantaged populations, by fighting poverty and isolation through: support for children and socio-humanitarian projects, in partnership with organisations such as orphanages, schools, reception centres, etc.
General hospital
The General Hospital Pain Quotidien has a social aim and all treatments are provided free of charge. Indeed, medical treatments are very expensive in most African countries. Unfortunately, it’s a luxury for many families who can’t afford them.
Furthermore, the healthcare facilities that we are putting in place are not affiliated with any political party or political ideology. We believe that the skills and natural talents that each of us have are useful to carry out this project. Health professionals, qualified in their field and willing to help, are currently employed full-time in our facilities.
Qui est mon Prochain ?
The aim of Qui Est Mon Prochain ? is to bring love to our neighbour by raising awareness among people of distress around the world through articles and videos, by interceding for the weakest and by stepping up to help the needy through actions in the field.
